Focus on Household Textiles

One of the most promising areas for circular knits is household textiles, an area dominated by woven fabrics.  However, Monarch has pioneered the development of knitted bed sheets, which have become a best seller at Marks & Spencers under the label "Bed in a Bag".  Mattress ticking fabrics and, more recently, reversible quilts and bed throws have been developed on our V-LEC4D double jersey model, which offers electronic jacquard selection on both dial and cylinder.

These quilts are ideal as bed throws for hotels and guesthouses as well as traditional quilts in the home.  They are extremely light in weight and very soft to handle compared to conventional woven products.  The knitted quilts are filled with polyester, which can be varied to give different final fabric thickness and weight.  Importantly, varying the thickness reduces the weight but the loft of the fabric is still retained.  Complex stitching effects offer something quite unique compared to traditional printed woven fabrics.
